Khao Sok National Park
This is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful national parks in south Thailand, founded in 1980 in province of Suratthani. It is situated in the middle of rain forest and huge limestone mountains of total area 646 sq.km, 4 hours from Ko Lanta or 2 hour-drive from Krabi airport. A part of the national park is a huge man-made lake Chiaw Lan. This dam was the reason why so many of little islands were later created. On some of them there has never been a human being yet! The landscape is fascinating. You could find similar one in China (Gulin) or in Vietnam (Ha Long Bay). The visitors are attracted to see Rafflesie, the biggest flower in the world and huge rain forest which is older and richer than the one in Amazony. You can meet wild elephants here, tigers, bears, leopards. It is wise to spend 2-3 days in this location. The rough orice of the trip is 4.000 THB/person with local guide. In cooperation with local travel agency we created an adventure programe where you will be taken on trekking into the rain forest with a skillful guide who is able to prepare great dinner in the modele of jungle within few minutes. You will enjoy canoeing in a river. The acommodation is provided in a camp in the modestly equipped huts which are very stylish on the other hand. There is a family atmosphere and non stop service (breakfast-lunch-dinner). In case of interest we will give you detailed itinerary and exact price according to the numer of participants.
The trip can be done on your own if you rent a car in Ko Lanta for 2 days (2.500 THB) or use the bus connection to Suratthani. Entrance to the park is 500 THB, acommodation in a camp 700 THB.
Prices mentioned are only rough per a person. Trips are organised with an English speaking guide in a group of other foreigners.
